LEVERAGING INTERNATIONAL PRACTICES

The Indian Beverage Association (IBA) organised a Seminar on “Agenda for Growth: Indian Beverage Industry – Leveraging International Practices” on April 12, 2013 at Hotel Le Meridien, New Delhi. This coincided with the meeting of the Members of the International Council of Beverages Associations (ICBA) in New Delhi on April 10-11, 2013.

Leading personalities of the non-alcoholic beverage sector from India and the world over participated in the Seminar. These included Shri K Chandramouli, Chairperson and other senior functionaries of the Food Safety & Standards Authority of India, representatives of the American Beverage Association, the Australian Beverages Council, the China Beverages Industry Association, the Japan Soft Drinks Association, the Canadian Beverage Association, The Coca-Cola Company (USA), PepsiCo (USA) and Red Bull, Austria, apart from the Chairman, Regulatory Affairs Committee, PFNDAI. Several of them also spoke on this occasion. One of the highlights of the event was a panel discussion on “Indian Beverage Industry: Unlocking the Potential” chaired by Shri Rakesh Kacker, Secretary, Government of India, Ministry of Food Processing Industries. The others on the panel were Shri Geoff Parker, President, ICBA, Shri V. Kini, Sr. Vice-President, Coca Cola India, Shri Sunil Duggal, CEO, Dabur India, Smt. Deepika Warrier, Vice-President, PepsiCo India and Shri Kandarp Singh, Managing Director, Tetra Pak India

Widely covered by the media, the event evoked keen interest and was a big success.
